Two Loves….

Today I was thinking about love. It really comes in pairs if you ask me.

Take Friday…I LOVE FRIDAY and I LOVE that it proceeds with a Saturday and Sunday. Hence, the weekend! haha. I LOVE my little family, yes the TWO of them.

IMG00467-20110505-1326IMG00470-20110505-1328

I LOVE Cardio and Strength Training….
hence the Abbreviation TBC -(total body conditioning)
  • warm up spin on bike 10 minutes
    • 30 seconds sprint /10 seconds rest – X 4
    • jump of bike and do the following circuit
      • 20 jump plank pushups (plank, jump legs up like a burpee, back to plank and add a pushup)
      • 20 jump lunges
      • 8 diamond pushups (slow down, fast up)
      • 20 single leg squat with bicep curls (10 each leg)
      • 30 bicycle crunches (10 fast/10 slow/10 fast)
    • Back on bike for 1 minute hill climbs/ 20 seconds rest – X 3
  • REPEAT entire workout anywhere from 2-4xWhoa!

I LOVE Mexican and Texas Food, hence the word TEXMEX!

Hot Mexican Coleslaw

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
And the best topping in the WORLD!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
This was easy peasy!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tsp Chili Pepper or Chili Mix Spices (cumin, garlic, chili flakes, etc)
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Nutritional Yeast (1-2 tbsp)
  • 1 1/2 cups Coleslaw Cabbage Mix
  • 1 egg
  • Optional Toppings- Spicy Ketchup, jalapenos, sour cream, greek yogurt, avocado, and so on!!
Directions:
Throw cabbage mix in a skillet and add in spices and vinegar. Mix your egg in last and let it coat the slow and cook. Mix while cooking. Serve hot or cold. Add your topping before serving. Serves 1 or 2 small servings.

What are some of your two loves?

Cheers,
LC

p.s.
Have you seen Christine's (aka MERF) Kombuca giveaway? I might have blabbed her ear off about it. That's LOVE!

Wow, that slaw looks amazing. I know you use the egg for coating but I might toss in some crumbled tofu to make it vegan and add a little protein. Can't wait to try it!

Great posts! I like the "two loves" idea...I will most certainly say that one is also my husband and the other (among many!) is a run in the sun outdoors...after a long winter in Calgary (and across Canada), this is one thing that I'm taking even more joy and pleasure in as spring finally springs! ;) `I'm 100% with you on the cardio + strength training too...love breaking a sweat and getting my heart rate up at the same time! I did a burpee + jump rope workout today that rocked me - love working up a Friday sweat. ;) And I entered the giveaway too - great post about Kombucha! I never knew all that about the drink and have looked everywhere in Canada for it - hoping I come away with a "win" for this one so I can review it myself and experience it personally! Thanks for being you, Lindsay! Keep loving and living well, Bonnie.

can my love come in three's please? ;) I think I'm going to start using some of these workouts as part of training once Knoxville is done! I need some TBC (that's a three) to compliment my swim bike run (that's a three too!). Then I've got a little of James' swimming drils, some of your circuts and a sadie inspired run (I'll jump over every grate I see..) heyyy another three! I think I've got love in threes!

Two things that I love are traveling and racing. I love experiencing new cultures and ways of life and just being able to try new things in general! Racing is just exhilarating and fun. I love that I can compete against others, but in the end it's just a competition with myself to get a new PR. So even if I don't win, I can win!
