After he fixed it the second time around, I had to reboot all my files, software, etc. (and I am still in the process of doing that). Anywho, my computer no longer recognizes my gravatar/email commenting set up, so all you wordpress bloggers….I AM GOING TO YOUR SPAM! I think I have the magic touch to spam all computers, haha.
In the midst of all the technology debacle yesterday, I just had to laugh! I told the hubs that we are quite the pair. It’s a good thing we know how to turn off an oven, right? Speaking of ovens, I decided to get my head out of my computer yesterday and ENJOY some baking! That’s one area where SPAM is not allowed……yet.
Since the hubs is enjoying a recovering week, and with that being said, I try to up his antioxidants/protein. This means lots and lots of good veggies, omega rich foods, etc.
Good thing I have these bags to keep them fresh all week!
Seriously, check out Clearly Fresh Bags. They will save your produce! My kale lasted 3 days longer.
And for the omegas/protein./antioxidants….the oven was my friend.
Luckily I had saved one of Chrysta’s Recipes via email and after seeing it on Tianna’s (Tea Bagg) site again, I decided to “Cotter-ize” it.
Cheesy Flax Protein Bread
(Grain Free)
Ingredients: (Makes 10-12 slices)60gr plain protein powder (I used life Basics Unsweetened)
1/4 c. Greek Yogurt/Cottage cheese (cottage cheese is rich in amino acids)
2 eggs and 1 flax egg (flax egg- 1 tbsp flaxmeal and 2-3 tbsp water)
1 Tbs Nutritional Yeast
1 Tbs. Unsweetened Tomato paste
1 tsp. Turmeric (High antioxidants)
dash of paprika (optional)
1 tsp. Crazy Jane Salt Mix
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Directions
Heat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Mix well. You might have to add in some milk if its too thick. Coat a loaf pan with a non stick spray. Pour bread mixture into it. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. Might be a little longer if depending on your oven.
Slice and eat!
It’s actually really good with a little butter or cream cheese/tomato on top!
Over and Out,
Sir Spam-a-lot

That bread looks really good. Is there a substitute for that salt mix, (um, like, salt?)
good to hear about the bags - I never really know if they work or not?? someone has been emailing me to try some (perhaps those!) and I don't know why I'm such a skeptic :)
I remember several months ago that happened to me, my gravatar was messed up and I was in everyone's spam jail. once released I was fine. ;)
oh my goodness, i love your take on this bread - i bet it'd taste like pizza with italian herbs! i need to get some plain protein powder to try out new variations! :) good luck with your computer!!!
Every once in a while my comments decide to go to spam -- it is so frustrating!
That bread looks delicious!
Note to self: do not read your blog when I'm hungry right before a workout. That bread looks SO GOOD!!
PS. Boo on the spam, I was wondering why your comment came up as one I needed to approve this morning!
Those bags look fantastic! I was just talking to my family about how to make produce last longer. Thanks! Hope things start looking up for you soon :)
Oh, I hope you get all the bugs out soon. Of course, you can always refer back to my Mac comment and fix it entirely : ) The bread looks oh so yummy! I need a better oven that would allow me to bake in the summer and not make my house 100 degrees!
My boys love spam! Seriously. I'm glad things are getting back to normal. The bread looks amazing!
Boo! I hate computer troubles!
but you are the king of computer know-hows! must be a man thing! haha.

And that bread sounds AMAZING! The Hubs is so blessed to have such an amazing wife with killer skills in the kitchen!! He'll be fully recovered from his race in no time with all your amazing Cotter food:)

Urgh, computer troubles are annoying, bc it renders me helpless. Get a Mac, Lindsay! It's pretty straightforward and easy to get used to, and I've had mine for 3 years and never had any virus problems.
Hope your computer problems are solved!! :D
That bread looks really awesome!
Gosh, spam is the WORST. Sorry lady!
And that loaf looks and sounds like something I could eat on the reg. Bookmarked! As soon as I get home.... But I need to buy a different protein powder first. I CAN NOT bake with whey protein isolate. It tastes terrible no matter what - the texture. What kind of protein should I buy instead? Normal whey? Soy? Rice? Ideas?
Hey, spammer! ;)
I kid, I kid...that happened to me a few months ago. Some wordpress blogs still don't let me comment. It's bizarre.
So glad you and the husband are reunited!
mmm that bread sounds AWESOME!! I always love the spices you use....
I had no idea that tumeric was high in antioxidants! You always post the best looking recipes! You're so good to take care of your hubby after his race.
Sorry about your computer situation. Our hard drive died a little while ago and if we wouldn't have had our back up running I would have lost everything! I think you posted a while ago about technology and the pain and pleasure that it is. Glad you're back to normal!
I got the Clearly Fresh bags as well - don't use them for bananas. The moisture in the bags builds up and mold will start to grow!
Oh Lord, SPAM...now THAT brings back some childhood memories! Fried and slathered in ketchup...maybe even on a slice of bread! How did I eat that stuff?!!
I totally forgot that turmeric is high in antioxidants! Seriously, I need to write this stuff down!
That bread sounds like it would be absolute Heaven with cream cheese and tomato!! Mmmmmm!
Good luck with the computer! I like how you're staying positive, I probably would've driven off a cliff after the second time! Haha!
That bread looks AWESOME! I have some plain brown rice protein that I could definitely put to good use with this!
I hope that your computer doesnt get any more viruses. I will pray for your computer(sounds dorky but Hey I do it EVERYDAY since mine crashed last year and nothing) I hope your hubby gets a TON of rest and gets to do something relaxing this week!!! MMMM I LOVE bread, but barely eat it anymore
eek, thats not good. Thanks for letting me know. I used them in the fridge. We
go through bananas so fast, the bags would be able to keep up, haha.

i hope your computer is better now!! Viruses are no fun :-( That bread you made looks absolutely amazing!!!! I really want to just pick your brain for all of your GF recipes bc yours always look so great!
Yum! looks delish! And yay for kale! It was so tasty today, I must say. I'm so sorry for your spam issues! What a pain!!!
I know your cure for spam.... you need to consider investing in a Mac :)
ohhh that bread looks wonderful! We never bake anymore because eat a whole loaf in one day! :P
Sorry to hear you've had a tough week with your computer. I promise you you're not the only one who doesn't feel tech savvy! I think all of your comments are getting through as I just checked my spam. But let me know if they're not. I'm still deciding whether to drop the disqus system or not. Sigh when will technology get easier?? :P
I always wondered if those bags actually worked. I need to get some!
I have to say I'm a little relieved to read that you were talking about computer spam and not real food spam. I thought "Not Lindsay, she would never eat spam". So that is a relief. Sorry about the viruses.....such a pain. I must admit having a mac is great for not dealing with viruses although I am still learning all the "new" programs. Hope your virus days are over.
boo to computer viruses. i'm sorry you have had to deal with that. i need to try those bags! i have a habit of letting things hang out in the produce drawer for too long sometimes. and the bread looks delicious!
Computer virus are the worst....backup your pics! that is my advice..we had a virus last year and we lost a lot of stuff..some pics and it broke my heart. A guy was able to recover a lot of files but not all of them. Now I am better at backing up the pics on an external drive.
oh yes, I did! i learned the hard way last time. ugh. Pictures are so precious,
I agree.
Hope all is well caroline!

them!

Oh viruses are such bummers! I've had one at work for the last few days and it makes it so hard to get done. Glad that you got them cleared up and I hope it stays that way.
haha! sorry you have so much spam in your life right now...not cool! haha! That protein bread looks delish! Also...thanks for the tip on the bags...I have never heard of them but living on my own means 3 extra days for produce would be HUGE!!! in keeping my produce around a bit longer for me to enjoy :)
just think, now you could buy produce at costco with these bagss, haha! Hope
your enjoying your week friend.

Spam is the lamest. Sorry girl! Thanks for another awesome protein recipe! I need to buy unflavored protein. I keep seeing great recipes with that ingredient. All I have is chocolate, cinnamon roll, and vanilla. Hmmm, chocolate cheesey bread sounds...disgusting! Hahahah!
everytime you write spam I think of the actual food...i am grossed out ;) My husband and I forget to turn off the oven :) All of a sudden the apartment is 20 degrees hotter and we can't figure out why....oh life :)
I gotta try those bags. I refuse to clean out the fridge so it's Dave's job. He yells at me every time he comes across old produce... which is pretty often! If it's even the slightest bit questionable, I don't touch it. So it just sits there.. hahahahah. Oops!
Those bags look awesome!! So does that bread!
Glad your spam problem is fixed!
Great to meet you for a quick second at Quassy!
yikes computer problems suck! bill and i finally switched to macs because we could not take it anymore.....good luck and can you send some of that bread? YUM!!!!!! btw thank you for mentioning me on your post the other day......i read the post at work but can't comment at work.......loved it!
I gotta get some of those bags. I get so irritated when my greens go bad. I need my chlorophyll, dangit! :P Have a good day, spammy.
So so sorry about the computer problems my friend. I absolutely hate technology. The bread looks delicious though so maybe you should just stick with baking? jk I would die without your blog!
i know, everyone says to get a mac. Next computer for sure! And thank you for
reminding me to take that advice. Glad you enjoyed reading about it!

Maybe you could help me with my recent post? http://vivoir.wordpress.com/2011/06/15/going-against-the-grain/
Yummm love that protein bread and definitely glad I got your spam!! :(
I've had another friend rave about those produce bags, but I've never bought any! I need to get on that! : )
I had the problem with being spammed myself a while ago. Since then, I check my spam filter regularly. Thank you for telling me nevertheless, you should be able to comment like usual again now!
