We connect with each other through food, through fitness, through life’s hardships and struggles. We connect through everyday blessings, celebrations, health related issues, and so so much more. Each day is an opportunity to make a new connection or strengthen our current connections. That, my friends, is a magical feeling.
This is why I love Jen (Peas and Crayons). She has created a weekly opportunity for all of us to make a connection. A simple connection over sharing a simple meal. A meal that doesn’t have to be vegan, gluten free, etc. Just a meal that shares a little about you. And somewhere, somehow, someone will read it and find a connection.
That being said, here’s a little WIAW.
Breakfast
Feeling a little “coco-nutty” today. Chia Pudding with coconut, banana, and a handful GF Granola (Love Grown) mixed in.
Can’t forget my Omega’s. This stuff is super TASTY and has a 300% more absorption rate.
Lots of Produce Consumption for Lunch
Dinner
Jasmine rice with black beans, scrambled egg, mango sauce, and paprika. Brown rice quesadilla with almond cheese cheddar filling.
I think I was on a tropical kick today, minus the wine.
So there you have it……meals that share a little bit about me.
I thought about doing WIWW (What I Worked Wednesday) but lets wait, one connection at a time here, right?
What connection did you make today?

I feel like a stalker. Every post, I'm all, I love that post!
I've got a heap of people coming over for an easy dinner tonight, and I haven't spent time with any of them in a while, so it's long overdue :D. So excited to reconnnect :)
i love every "connection"!! blogs really are so great for that. your breakfast sounds like heaven!
I totally continue to blog b/c of the connections =) You guys are my rock! <3 I can only imagine how theraputic this is going to be during my hubs deployment. I will for sure be blogging like MAD during that time!
You had some goooorgeous eats girl! tis the time for tropical goodies =) xoxo
I loooove WIAW!!!! :D All of your food looks amazing!
Nothing beats a little square of dark chocolate + wine. But in reality if I had to choose between the two, usually I would go for the wine.
I'm with you, I prefer wine over chocolate any old day!!!
You know I'm most thankful for our connection! I made a great connection with my breath today in yoga. Relaxing while building strength, focus and flexibility. :) I need you to cook for me. I'm in a serious rut.
Great meal assortment today! I love it. And I agree 100% that blogging is about connecting with 'like-minded' people! I've learned so much from you and others I read and it's truly amazing what you can cultivate, isn't it?!
Sometimes I feel closer with some bloggers than I do with people I know in real life! I feel like you get to see so much of their lives through their posts or their pictures -- it is really interesting when you really think about it!
What connection did you make today? Well hopefully my brain + body make a great connection during my 8 mile run today. We shall see!
Hello yummy dinner! Dang that sounds so good! We had lunch with friends today and it was great chatting about life, love and movies. I love feeling the connection with people through blogs. I have really found some great friends out there...including you lady! I hope you have a great evening!
oh MY. give me back my brain! ;) I just had an amazing connection with my sis at lunchtime. we were talking about Dr Wayne Dyer and his focus - we had an awesome conversation and I had this epiphany - my "little sis" is this wise woman now! it was VERY cool. I'll take either one of those bars - we are a honey stinger household too!
oooh, I don't know if you know this about me, but I am a product junkie and MUST try all new fun things that look good... I want to try those Omegas! my doc gave me a CHEWABLE recently and I don't know why I didn't KNOW it would be gross. fishy!
Lindsay! You read my mind sometimes. I was just reading Biochemista's blog and she asked "why do you read blogs" and I said:
Why do I read blogs? Pretty pictures. Inspiration. Commiseration. Advice. Connection.
ooohoohoohhh (<- that's me humming The Twilight Zone)
LOVE this (as usual). You're right, we are lucky to have our own blogs to connect in soooo many ways with one another. Through food (always!) or fitness or whatever, the connections are amazing. I am thankful to have met you as one of those very special connections! And for the record, your eats today look yumbolicious!!
i thought about this last night as I read your post. I can always relate you and
wine, haha. Well that and running strengths, etc. I love the heart you have!

Seriously, same brain wave. YES I am a product junkie too! You must try the
omegas. No fishy taste, actually very yummy!
What a great time with your sis. Happy Wednesday to that!

I must be doing something wrong with my almond cheese. Or my tastebuds are just weird. It has a funky aftertaste for me...does that go away when you cook it?
Never a stalker! Its your voice. Love it! And have a wonderful dinner
"connection" tonight.

"We connect with each other through food, through fitness, through life’s hardships and struggles" well said!!!! Sorry we have been MIA lately girl but now we have some time to finally catch up!! And going on with your connection it is so true after my visit to NYC and meeting some long time blog friends in person really helped deepen that connection! And now I just need to meet you ;) xoxo
so agree girl- blogging is ALL about connecting with people you never thought you could/would before :) so love it girl! Happy Wednesday dear!
Hooray for WIAW!! I love all your eats especially the chia pudding and your dinner. Jasmine rice is my all time favorite rice, it's delicious :D
I love your enthusiasm for life, Lindsay!!! LOVE it. I always know I can come to your blog (my safe place) and be reminded that life is beautiful and even a little (needed) mushy. :) Love it. And so true with the connections! I feel so honored and blessed to have the opportunity to connect with each and every other blogger with a common ground. Such an amazing feeling.
Cheers to the wine. ;)
yes m'am! Jasmine rice mixes so well with all different flavors. Love it. Happy

I found you through hungryrunnergirl and LOVE your blog. I'm definitely following as we share a passion for fitness and healthy living -- especially running! I love that you lived in HI...I travel to Maui and Oahu for work very often and love it. Have a great evening! :)
Love the look of your rice/beans/egg combo! YUM!
And I totally appreciate a nice glass of red after a long day, too :-)
Whats the recipe for your chia pudding? I'm wanting to make some but i dont know how and I cannot find the recipe for some weird reason :-/. I love how you brought up the part about blogging to connect with others! SOOOO true! :-)
I love the blogging connection too. :) You're one of my favorite bloggers! Be proud! I love your meals today. I might start trying a paleo diet, or at least mostly paleo, but all gluten/dairy free. The chia pudding would be a great alternative to oatmeal in the morning!
I connected all day with my nephew, and took him to play outside with Joe's nephew and nieces---so it was a kid-filled day! I also re-connected with their trampoline and that was super fun (and hard work!)...so it reminded me to try make my workouts more fun!
oh I bet you'd like the paleo diet. Doesn't hurt to try. The chia pudding it a
favorite! And you are too kind, I love that we have a GREAT connection katie!

I saw you on Hungry Runner Girl and you looked amazing in your photos! One question for you: How do you train your legs?! haha
I also love Jenn at P&C, she's so creative and I love her WIAW :)
Blogging truly is all about the connection! The friendships made are REAL and so personal, which almost seems impossible through the internet, but writing allows us to open up and share things that we might not otherwise disclose face-to-face. Then, when the opportunity arrises and we meet the people (readers and fellow bloggers) that we've leaned on for support, celebrated with, asked for advice from, etc etc., the connection is taken to a whole new level. I feel so blessed to "know" people like you, Lindsay!
Loving your tropical eats today, especially that chia, coconut banana pudding. Oh, and by the way, I tried kombucha the other day and really enjoyed it! Thanks for your advice!
I think you and I are "food soul mates." We eat very similarly... and enjoy our little bit of wine too :)
oh I agree! Too bad we're not neighbors. Cheers!

Yummm! Love all your eats, especially your lunch! That plate full of apples and drippy pb is making me have rumblies. :)
I found your blog! Yeah for connections!!! (;
Girl, can we get a "how to" for that rice?! It looks creamy and tasty!! I never get creative with rice, mostly because it's only a recent development that I can even make it w/o screwing up the texture, ha. So, creativity is a few baby steps ahead...
oh yea! this makes my day. New connections! Cheers Niki.

Yes, m'dear...it really IS all about connection. The best is when that blogger connection then translates into "real life." :)
I never really thought about food as a connection until I started doing Bible studies at coffee shops with my boy and we really connect when we share coffee and treats and focus on God's word :) Love it!
Love what you said about connection. It is so true - for me I have no friends who are interested in training and eating well and being healthy. Most of my connections to that part of my life are really virtual, and much needed and appreciated.
I love Perfect Foods Bars. I need to order me some more of those babies.
LOVE your way of thinking- wine instead of chocolate- sounds perfect to me :)
And, I agree- that is what I love about blogs too- we have our own little connection.. in this big ol' blog world- I LOVE it! I have 'met' so many great people with so much great advice that I am forever grateful to the blog commuity :)
And, I'm SO sorry, but you asked me a few days ago (I think it was in one of the responses to a comment that I left you) when my wedding was- it's May 27th :)
so true!!It's good to find people who enjoy the same interests as you do and motivate each other. And that chia pudding looks delicious!!!good photography :)
oh yes, I can relate to that. And I am so glad that we have those
HEALTHY connections. Keeps us grounded. Now go order your Perfect Foods bars.
hehe.

sure thing. First I cook the rice in a pot, then I add in 1 or 2 eggs, drained
black beans, and a little seasoning/oil. Mix it up and let it sit at medium
covered for a few minutes. Then stir again till the egg is all cooked and
scrambled within the rice. Then you an either make a sauce or sometimes I use
mango salsa and add that in to finish the dish.
HEAVEN!

Everyone I have "met" online have been amazing and just plain awesome and I really appreciate that. Its just one more thing that makes me smile. Great looking eats too. The wine totally makes my day. There is nothing like a glass of wine at the end of a long day. Take care hon!
I totally agree it is all about connections!! Your eggs look amazing!!! HOpe you are having a fabulous day!
And I am super thankful for our connection!!

A great day of eats! I've got to check out those Omegas you speak of--300% more absorption rate? That's another thing I love about this blogging community. I get to learn so much new information and see new products in use. Love it!
Today I made a connection with a new friend. I learned we are both interested in feeding our kiddos non-processed, healthy foods. It's so great to meet like-minded people in real life, too!!
I fiund myself reading more and more blogs simply b/c I feel connected with the blogger, even if our choices in food or exercise are completely different. Of course with some, yourself included, I love all their eats...except for that glass of wine. Not a wine girl...I'll bring the chocolate. :)
oh thats so important. What a great connections. YOu can bounce ideas off
each other for your kiddos! And yes, the omegas are awesome. even for kids!

Perfect way to articulate why we blog and read blogs. I love the connections I've made - this has been a banner year.
I absolutely love the connections we all have through food. I can't help but become incredibly interested and involved in every blogger's life I come across...it is a gigantic part of my life now and it is SO WONDERFUL!!!
I am with Heather down there though, I will totally bring the chocolate :-) That nut butter you had with your apple looks delicious.
So I am thinking about getting Disqus for my blog, what are your thoughts on it?

you are so right! its things like that that make it worth every penny, ya know?
