Simple Connection and WIAW

Do you ever really think about why you blog or why you read blogs? I know its crossed your mind or at least one person has asked that before. I think it all comes down to a feeling, a connection.

We connect with each other through food, through fitness, through life’s hardships and struggles. We connect through everyday blessings, celebrations, health related issues, and so so much more. Each day is an opportunity to make a new connection or strengthen our current connections. That, my friends, is a magical feeling.

This is why I love Jen (Peas and Crayons). She has created a weekly opportunity for all of us to make a connection. A simple connection over sharing a simple meal. A meal that doesn’t have to be vegan, gluten free, etc. Just a meal that shares a little about you. And somewhere, somehow, someone will read it and find a connection.

That being said, here’s a little WIAW.

Breakfast

Feeling a little “coco-nutty” today. Chia Pudding with coconut, banana, and a handful GF Granola (Love Grown) mixed in.

Can’t forget my Omega’s. This stuff is super TASTY and has a 300% more absorption rate.

Some good snacks. Can you guess which one is my bar and which one is the hub’s?

Lots of Produce Consumption for Lunch

Dinner
Jasmine rice with black beans, scrambled egg, mango sauce, and paprika. Brown rice quesadilla with almond cheese cheddar filling.

I think I was on a tropical kick today, minus the wine.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Many women might reach for chocolate, but I go for a glass of local wine to end the night. Cheers!!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So there you have it……meals that share a little bit about me.

I thought about doing WIWW (What I Worked Wednesday) but lets wait, one connection at a time here, right?

What connection did you make today?

Nothing beats a little square of dark chocolate + wine. But in reality if I had to choose between the two, usually I would go for the wine.

I'm with you, I prefer wine over chocolate any old day!!!

You know I'm most thankful for our connection! I made a great connection with my breath today in yoga. Relaxing while building strength, focus and flexibility. :) I need you to cook for me. I'm in a serious rut.

Great meal assortment today! I love it. And I agree 100% that blogging is about connecting with 'like-minded' people! I've learned so much from you and others I read and it's truly amazing what you can cultivate, isn't it?!

Sometimes I feel closer with some bloggers than I do with people I know in real life! I feel like you get to see so much of their lives through their posts or their pictures -- it is really interesting when you really think about it!

What connection did you make today? Well hopefully my brain + body make a great connection during my 8 mile run today. We shall see!

Hello yummy dinner! Dang that sounds so good! We had lunch with friends today and it was great chatting about life, love and movies. I love feeling the connection with people through blogs. I have really found some great friends out there...including you lady! I hope you have a great evening!

oh MY. give me back my brain! ;) I just had an amazing connection with my sis at lunchtime. we were talking about Dr Wayne Dyer and his focus - we had an awesome conversation and I had this epiphany - my "little sis" is this wise woman now! it was VERY cool. I'll take either one of those bars - we are a honey stinger household too!

oooh, I don't know if you know this about me, but I am a product junkie and MUST try all new fun things that look good... I want to try those Omegas! my doc gave me a CHEWABLE recently and I don't know why I didn't KNOW it would be gross. fishy!

Christine said...

Lindsay! You read my mind sometimes. I was just reading Biochemista's blog and she asked "why do you read blogs" and I said:

Why do I read blogs? Pretty pictures. Inspiration. Commiseration. Advice. Connection.

ooohoohoohhh (<- that's me humming The Twilight Zone)

LOVE this (as usual). You're right, we are lucky to have our own blogs to connect in soooo many ways with one another. Through food (always!) or fitness or whatever, the connections are amazing. I am thankful to have met you as one of those very special connections! And for the record, your eats today look yumbolicious!!

Blogging truly is all about the connection! The friendships made are REAL and so personal, which almost seems impossible through the internet, but writing allows us to open up and share things that we might not otherwise disclose face-to-face. Then, when the opportunity arrises and we meet the people (readers and fellow bloggers) that we've leaned on for support, celebrated with, asked for advice from, etc etc., the connection is taken to a whole new level. I feel so blessed to "know" people like you, Lindsay!

Loving your tropical eats today, especially that chia, coconut banana pudding. Oh, and by the way, I tried kombucha the other day and really enjoyed it! Thanks for your advice!

Tawnee said...

scrambled within the rice. Then you an either make a sauce or sometimes I use
mango salsa and add that in to finish the dish.
