Heaven and Earth

Happy Slow Sunday. A day to recoup and try to slow everything down so that the day lasts as long as possible, avoiding that Monday.

I sit here writing this morning SLOWLY reflecting on this past week. It was SLOW but I am pretty sure God intended it that way. I think He slowed it for one reason……To end it with Answered Prayers and Beautiful Blessings. It’s what made this slow week worth the wait.

I am a woman of faith and firmly believe that God answers prayers on HIS time for a purpose and for a plan. This week my Heavenly Father answered prayers through my Earthly Father and just in time for FATHERS DAY! Hmm, what a coincidence. Or rather, what a divine plan!

So today I want thank God (my heavenly father) for giving me such an amazing earthy father (aka DAD)! He is one of my best friends, my support system, my hero, and so much more.

The best fathers not only give us life— they teach us how to live.

1053
He has taught me how to be confident, how be strong, how to live life to the fullest, and how to Not SWEAT the Small Stuff (still working on that one).
me and daddad

He’s taught me to pursue my dreams and embrace my passion!

He’s taught me to love the great outdoors and see the beauty in God’s creation.

But most importantly, he showed me how a REAL MAN loves and cares for his family. And that’s how I was able to find a REAL MAN myself.

Thank you God for these blessings. Thank you for slowing down the week so that I could see significance in the way you answer prayers.

Whether your celebrating Father’s Day or not, I hope you able to slow your Sunday and reflect on the blessings from the past week. They are there! Just look.

Red heart

Mush Monday just turned into Sappy Sunday!

Cheers,
LC

Lindsay,

What a beautiful post and it's definitely a good one for me to read today. I needed a good reminder of all the things I have to be thankful for despite the fact that father's day is not a happy day for me.
Your father is clearly a wonderful, loving man who raised an equally wonderful daughter.  :)

I love this quote: "But most importantly, he showed me how a REAL MAN loves and cares for his family. And that’s how I was able to find a REAL MAN myself." Speaks volumes to me. This is such an important part of being a good dad. I would be lost without mine and attribute him for my loving relationship.

I love all of the pictures of your Dad.
I could not agree more, having a REAL MAN for a father also showed me how to find a real man that would treat me right & stand by my side no matter what!

Perfect Sappy Sunday post! :)

k said...

pfft, sappy or just honest :) i left home this weekend. first time ever. and i miss my parents terribly- i've never felt prouder of them EVER. just for who they are and the support that they offer/ have offered. i've always been aware of it and grateful for it, but the void i'm now left with has made me realise that it runs deeper than i think we ever really understand

more people should make their parents feel valued. and if we're sappy in the process, well, small price to pay :)

lindsay cotter said...

oh gosh, I love this comment K. So touching!! what a blessing to even realize
you have those parents!
Cheers!
