I sit here writing this morning SLOWLY reflecting on this past week. It was SLOW but I am pretty sure God intended it that way. I think He slowed it for one reason……To end it with Answered Prayers and Beautiful Blessings. It’s what made this slow week worth the wait.
I am a woman of faith and firmly believe that God answers prayers on HIS time for a purpose and for a plan. This week my Heavenly Father answered prayers through my Earthly Father and just in time for FATHERS DAY! Hmm, what a coincidence. Or rather, what a divine plan!
So today I want thank God (my heavenly father) for giving me such an amazing earthy father (aka DAD)! He is one of my best friends, my support system, my hero, and so much more.
The best fathers not only give us life— they teach us how to live.
He has taught me how to be confident, how be strong, how to live life to the fullest, and how to Not SWEAT the Small Stuff (still working on that one).
He’s taught me to love the great outdoors and see the beauty in God’s creation.
But most importantly, he showed me how a REAL MAN loves and cares for his family. And that’s how I was able to find a REAL MAN myself.
Thank you God for these blessings. Thank you for slowing down the week so that I could see significance in the way you answer prayers.
Whether your celebrating Father’s Day or not, I hope you able to slow your Sunday and reflect on the blessings from the past week. They are there! Just look.
Mush Monday just turned into Sappy Sunday!
Cheers,
LC

Today is definitely a good "slow" day! Feels so good after a busy week huh?! Happy Father's Day to your dad!!
Lindsay,
What a beautiful post and it's definitely a good one for me to read today. I needed a good reminder of all the things I have to be thankful for despite the fact that father's day is not a happy day for me.
Your father is clearly a wonderful, loving man who raised an equally wonderful daughter. :)
I knew I would read a beautiful post! These pictures are beautiful of you and your. Love how you transition to your hubby!
Aww, Lindsay, this truly warmed my heart! :D
Lindsay, this post is beautiful. You are truly blessed and can articulate that appreciation well. what a wonderful celebratory post to your father! <3
aww! I love this tribute. Given I am not very close to my dad (thogh it's much better than it used to be), I love seeing those relationships between father and daughter that area truly awesome. So great. Love seeing this. happy rest of your weekend!!
fabulous and beautiful father day tribute. Slow sundays are the best and its so good to take some time and reflect on the past week. Your blog always makes me smile!
Aww, so cute! I love the pic of you and your dad on the horse. Adorable:).
I sometimes wonder if fathers have any idea just how strong their influence is on their daughters' lives. I am grateful for my dad every single day.
amen to that! hope you got a good hug.

Linds, that was such a beautiful post. Too often we hear about fathers not playing an active role in their children's lives. Clearly, when they do they raisesuch great kids. You are a very lucky person to have such a wonderful dad. I hope he had a great day yesterday!

Sometimes a little sap is a good thing, especially when it comes to our daddy's!
I love this quote: "But most importantly, he showed me how a REAL MAN loves and cares for his family. And that’s how I was able to find a REAL MAN myself." Speaks volumes to me. This is such an important part of being a good dad. I would be lost without mine and attribute him for my loving relationship.
Great post Lindsay! I am so glad you had a slow week and took some time to reflect on the gifts god has given you. Your Dad sounds just as amazing as you are.
oh you are too sweet rachelle. I think we are both pretty lucky to have
such amazing dad's. right?

Thanks for sharing a beautiful post :) Yesterday in church we had a guest speaker who talked about the importance of fathers in shaping their sons to be good husbands/fathers and their daughters to find holy men like themselves! I never really thought of it that way but its so true!
yes, so true. and such an encouragement for us women too! What a great sermon
Kate.

beautiful post! everything you said is so true... I was thinking some of the same things when I was thinking about fathers day and how important my dad is to me. now that I have an incredible and caring husband.. i'm so thankful that my kids will have an amazing dad like I had. I like your Sappy Sundays :)
LOVE this post!! Beautiful :)
What a beautiful post!
I love all of the pictures of your Dad.
I could not agree more, having a REAL MAN for a father also showed me how to find a real man that would treat me right & stand by my side no matter what!
Perfect Sappy Sunday post! :)
pfft, sappy or just honest :) i left home this weekend. first time ever. and i miss my parents terribly- i've never felt prouder of them EVER. just for who they are and the support that they offer/ have offered. i've always been aware of it and grateful for it, but the void i'm now left with has made me realise that it runs deeper than i think we ever really understand
more people should make their parents feel valued. and if we're sappy in the process, well, small price to pay :)
oh gosh, I love this comment K. So touching!! what a blessing to even realize
you have those parents!
Cheers!

SUCH a beautiful post, Linds! Seriously made me tear up. I'm so glad you have a loving, close relationship with your dad. I feel very blessed to have the same with mine. One day these husbands of ours will become fathers themselves - now THAT will be an amazing thing to witness! I know we'll all still be friends. We'll just have to bring our kiddos over to visit y'all in NZ. :)
