Taper Time with WIAW & WIWW

This week has been some what discombobulated. Is that even a word? Oh wait, it is.

According to Urban Dictionary it mean “out of order” or “disarranged.” Ha, I love that. It totally describes the week. But I am used it. I’ve switched teaching weeks with a co-worker so all my fitness classes are on different days this week but I have to say it’s worked out nicely with the hubs taper week. Not as many 4:45am wake up calls. Tis good!

Anyway, since the hubs is racing this weekend, our eats are a little different too. Lots more fish, veggies, and antioxidant rich meals. It’s all about the quality not quantity of calories. So here we go.

I call this my Omega Banana Nut Parfait- layer of oats, layer of flax, layer of chia seeds, layer of GF cornflakes, topped with a little kefir, NUTTZO, banana, and honey.

GF Spinach Boats- Scoop out the middle of your GF roll, toast, then add in spinach, cottage or ricotta cheese (both high in amino acids and whey), and top with tomato sauce.

Strawberry Salmon Stir Fry- Sautee diced or canned Alaskan Salmon (wild caught) with broccoli slaw, turmeric, Braggs, and little blush strawberry vinaigrette. Serve on a bed of spinach with cherry tomatoes.

Oh and we can’t forget this!! Can we all just say CHEERS to GT Kombucha today?! I know this lady had the same!

WIWW (What I Worked Wednesday)

Well, I told you it was all off today. Instead of teaching I had a steady state run followed by TRX core work. If you don’t have a TRX, you need one NOW! Go check it out! We travel with this and it’s a LIFESAVER!

Why, oh why, did I look? I just started my Ayurvedic Detox and this food looks so tasty! I agree that mixing it up is a great thing. Plus, if mixing it up means less 4:45 starts, good on ya'!!

Oh your food looks amazing I am really impressed with how good your photos are usually when I photograph every meal its messy.... LOVE KOMBUCHA! My first batch came out today and its delicious! I need to try flavoring it but omg sooo good and way cheaper than GT'S even though I love it.

It's NO TRI, but this week is taper week for my marathon.... it defenitely means eats, & I hope their good, I'm trying to clean out the fridge since we'll be gone for few days. I think I had all 5 servings of fruits and veggies just for lunch and there's more to come :-)

And, I had kombucha today too. Guava. I liked it a lot! And, it is helping sooth my nasty tummy. I've had bathroom problems all day today. :(

TRX is all over the place here, I think they offer classes at the gym? I can't remember. Either way, it's somehow offered to us... I'll make sure to check it out though!!

PS - Funny story to share with you - my husband walked through the door this afternoon and asked "Why am I NOT smelling those Fluffy Bites?" I was beyond confused, and asked him what on earth he was talking about. Apparently it was his non-chalant way of 'asking' for the chocolate caramel peanut butter cups... I about died laughing. Hope that made you smile!

oh ya, it totally takes time to adjust to kombucha.  Its actually detoxing your
gut so start off with 4 oz at a time and on a slightly empty stomach. That will
help! Let me know if that works.

I used to make an amazing mexican pizza in a hollowed out piece of french bread - haven't made it in a while but thank you for reminding me of it.

I love canned salmon (much more affordable than salmon steaks) - I would never have thought to use it in a stir fry! Great idea - it looks delicious!

I started using the TRX in January when I started training for National Half marathon, I'm usualy not so good about stregth training, so that cycle I was going to stick to it, and now I'm HOOKED! It's so great! I haven't bought one yet, my gym has them set up, but I think I will cause we have some trips coming up and I don't want to slack, I get totally sore if I take 1 week off of it :)

LOL! yes, that has happend. Usually when the cashier put the kombucha on its
side or it shuffles around too much. We had the mango flavor explode in our car
once. Smelled for days! gotta be careful with them due to the fermentation.

Hey Lindsay,
I have to say I have missed you. Not any fault of yours, but I have been a slacker on reading my blogger and have a whole weeks worth of posts to read. And I guess I had two questions for you.
1st those Simply Asia Black Bean noodles, I want some, do you know of any online sites that carry them?
2nd The TRX is one of my favorite workouts, I fell in love like 3 years ago when I was seeing a personal trainer and she introduced me to those simple straps. I think I rolled my eyes and laughed at her when she brought them out, then asked for them during every session cause I loved the burn. Anyways that was not my question, the Question is if you don't have a beam to hang them on, is there another non-permanent option? Just curious if you knew.
