Going Nuts!!

Okay, I'm not really going NUTS but I am pretty darn excited! Why? I received my NUTTZO jars today and couldn't be more PUMPED!

yes I am pointing at my chest. classy, eh?

I've had several "triathlete" friends recommend this to me and now I know why. Nuttzo is a more unique blend of nut butter. The creator (Danielle) really knows her stuff!

Here' the 411 on Nuttzo:

NuttZo Original

Legumes + nuts and seeds = a complete protein (all your amino acids), so put NuttZo on a sliced apple or banana…or a spoon.

You’ll taste the earthy, elegant hazelnut pieces and nutty, flavorful, crunchy flax seeds in every bite. Whole brown flax seeds add fiber as well as nutritious Omega 3s as long as the skins have been broken through chewing. Ground flax seeds are added for easy absorption of Omega 3s. Valencia peanuts, cashews, flax seeds, Brazil nuts, and sunflower seeds are medium roasted and then ground into a delectable thin butter. The Valencia peanuts and sunflower seeds add a touch of sweetness. (There’s no added sugar in NuttZo.)

Provides 50% of your DV of ALA Omega 3 per serving (650 mg).

Organic ingredients; kosher certified.

Also, NuttZo is a proud supporter of ProjectLeftBehind.org.

1% of NuttZo's sales goes to the Project Left Behind Foundation.

and on NuttZo PF (peanut free):

You’ll taste the earthy, elegant hazelnut pieces and nutty, flavorful, crunchy flax seeds in every bite. Whole brown flax seeds add fiber as well as nutritious Omega 3s as long as the skins have been broken through chewing. The Aztec Superfood-Chia seeds are added for easy absorption of Omega 3s as well as hydration qualities to assist athletic workouts and races. NuttZo PF's cashews, Brazil nuts, and Hazelnuts are medium roasted. (There’s no added sugar in NuttZo PF.)

Provides 75% of your DV of ALA Omega-3's per serving (975 mg).

Organic ingredients; kosher certified.

Stored upside down for easier stirring. After opening, stir it, and then refrigerate and store it “lid-up”; the oils will separate naturally, but who wants a mess!

NuttZo PF is AKA (Ashley Koff R.D. approved)

So what does one do with 2 new jars of Nuttzo Nut Butter??

Dig in with a spoon first........then think of a great way to use it in a recipe.

This recipe is going to be used for our MISSON MONDAY. Bre and I decided to do a twist on a stir fry making it gluten free and with less oil. I know this is a little early (since its not Monday) but I was too excited and couldn't wait till Monday to make this! Bre will report back this Monday or next with her thoughts on this recipe.  She'll "go at it" the Canadian Gluten Free way, haha!

Anyway......onto the recipe.

SWEET AND SAVORY VEGGIE STIR FRY

Ingredients:
1-2 cup purple or red cabbage (shredded)
1 cup frozen soybeans (shelled and thawed)
1 cup mixture of chopped celery and carrots
1/3 cup large golden raisins
Braggs Liquid Aminos (its Gluten free and taste like soy sauce)
1-2 TBSP PF NUTTZO
Add a little Agave Nectar to make it more sweet than savory
Coconut oil spray

Directions:
Spray your wok or skillet with organic coconut oil spray and heat on high
Throw in all your ingredients (don't matter what order!!)

Add your Nuttzo and Braggs stir ingredients

Cover skillet or wok and let it simmer for a few minutes
Add in spices and stir again on medium or medium high until veggies are all coated with nut butter & cooked thoroughly.

Serve up!

This dish goes great with baked salmon, chicken, or tofu. Leave it without the meat and its still protein packed with the nuttzo and soybeans. Perfecto!
Luckily I made enough for leftovers this weekend, unless the hubs eats it all tomorrow morning. EEK! Guess I better hide my stash.
:)

Great Job Nuttzo! Looking forward to using the Original in my Oats tomorrow morning. Told ya I was going NUTS!

I am not a fan of peanuts or peanut butter, but seeing that they have a peanut free, I'm definitely checking it out. Can't beat those nutritionals! Great recipe too, BTW.

I dont know if I can have these around, I would probably be digging into it with a spoon until the jars are gone! Haha.

How is the Braggs Amino? Does it have it particular taste?
