Where’s this blog going anyway? Feeling kind of stagnant, I headed off for a trail run. It was mellow, it was peaceful, and it was finally a little cool. It cleared my head somewhat too, which leads me to this. A reset button.
Reset-
-set, -set·ting, -sets.
- To set again: reset a broken bone.
- To change the reading of: reset a clock.
Maybe its all of the above. The fact is, we get stuck or stagnant in life. It’s probably a good thing because it allows us to hit or SLAM that reset button.
Today I will reset my thinking and just go with the flow.
Today I will reset my obligations and focus on getting ONLY what’s NEEDED to be done
Today I will reset my own pressure…..being more at ease and content with where this blog is going, where my job/life is going, heck even where the day is going.
And with that being said, I am resetting my WIAW post.
No need to explain all my food choices or dig into detail about my workout. They’ve all been SET.
okay one hint, that is an egg/spinach/chicken hash for dinner.
NEW Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Healthy Bite Flavor
Recipe? Sure, I’ll set it up soon!
Today is a good day to push that reset button. It’s half way through the week.
No need to get a fresh start, just “set again.”
Your thoughts are welcome………….
Cheers,
LC

sooo true. somedays i def need a reset button ha. love this post!
We really do need that reset button sometimes. I know I need it a lot.
Thanks for the insightful post!
Love this idea. I especially like the idea of resetting your own pressure. So much of it is all our own doing to begin with. I love your blog how it is. I love that it changes, it varies, it's always full of inspiration and most importantly, it's YOU.
Lately I've been really good about resetting my obligations and focusing on what's most important on the to-do list and following it up with more focus on my to-enjoy list. It's like my reward for getting things done ;-)
its kinda like that staples commercial with the staple button, right? haha.

Glad that you're feeling better and that it's come to the light! :)
Exactly!
thank you heather. that means SO much. and your words of wisdom all come at the

Great post, Lindsay!!!! :D We all need to "reset" sometimes!
Can't wait for that recipe!
This post reminds me of something the instructors at my yoga studio say, "Begin again." For whatever reason, the first time I heard that a lightbulb went on for me. It was so helpful when I would find myself feeling negative, frustrated or judgmental - I'd just remind myself that I'm human and then begin again. There's always room to change your mindset and this post is a good reminder of that. I've found myself forgetting that lately and it's time to reset - thanks for this post! You always have such great insights.
OHMYGOSH, gimme that healthybite recipe!
Oh Lindsay I love this post. You are so wise :)I think your reset button is one of the healthiest things I've read about lately!!!
They're set in stone. delicious stone =) haha! ok that just sounds weird. reset that comment =)
love you my little almond joy! mwah!
I love the reset concept---I use it a lot with clients who feel stuck in their poor habits. They want to change and they see the problems, but they're stuck...so we do some resetting techniques. Often it's drinking water for half a day (rather than eating)...or doing a new meditation or workout. Sometimes when you're in a rut you just need to throw yourself out of your routine so your brain will snap out of it and see that there are other options!
Happy resetting :)
wise words my friend.
Yay for resets! I can't wait to get settled in Austin, and back to losing weight and doing things, so i have something to blog about!!!
thanks CB! hope you are well.

I love the idea of "resetting!!"
Mmm, can't wait for that recipe!!
great reminder that our only responsibilities are to ourselves and the boundaries we choose to set or break.
i love the face you're making to the shoestring potatoes! it's either "sexy face," skeptical, or "where'd all my damn shoestring potatoes go" face. :)
I wish I could reset the fact that I ate things I normally eat the last two nights, and havent worked out since Monday, but Im over it. thanks for the post
I think sometimes we just need to take a moment to step back and look at where we are in life and what we're doing whether it be in relationships, careers, finances or even blogging. It's good to know there is a purpose behind what you are doing and why you do it. Totally normal, girl. :)
oh girl, its a "where the heck did my potato strings go?!!" Que the hubs....
LOL!

I LOVE this. I have been struggling with my blog and focus for it as well lately. I hem and haw and wonder if my initial blog focus is what I want any more ,if I want to focus more on fitness as well etc. But I don't need to reset it either and change it completely. It can evolve. Just as yours can and is! Love this twist on WIAW too!
Your life is your blog and its definitely evolving right now, I agree. And I am
excited to keep following you on this journey jo!

This is a great way to put it LC, nothing like a trail run to "reset" your mind and focus. Glad you are well!
Hope things settle into place soon friend! I am definitely in a life reset mode right now...not sure how its going but just taking it one day at a time : )
Wishing you a happy Thursday Linds!
Hugs,
Katie
Resetting was definitely needed today here, too! Working from home welcomed too many distractions, but then I sort of embraced the distractions. Walk to a coffee shop = get outside. Set up a standing desk = get in some time on the feet. Join the lulu crew for a run = tackling these sore legs and shaking them out. :)
Wish I could've been on that trail with you - its always SO refreshing to just zone out with the surroundings telling you where to go.
I definitely has to reset twice this week. If I just slept, I'd be a different man!
Lindsay, I love this! It's exactly what I needed to hear. I'm going out of town this weekend and then taking a week off work...major reset time in my future!
All natural shoestring potatoes and mint chocolate chip healthy bites??? Making me hungry!! The past few months I keep having to reset my focus on my thesis (I know, you're probably sick of hearing me talk about it..I can't help it, it's consumed my life, lol!:). But i keep finding myself loosing focus (it's been a long process after all) and having to make myself sit down and reset the situation. You can do it!!
-Erin @ www.untilyoutri.com
so glad to hear this jenny! i have to constantly remind myself of this and its good to know I am not the only one in the same boat with life, etc. Hope that reset button gets you through the week friend!

I'm never sick of it! you are determined and thesis work is hard! I'd reset that

I love a good RESET button! I need to remember this more often. We really do have the ability to reset things - especially the emotions/chatter in our heads. :)
I learned LONG ago that no one in my life puts pressure on me more than I do. Sometimes I just need to stop and ask myself where is it coming from, what am I working towards, and just breathe and refocus.
LOVE this concept - and have been sensing it in bloggy land for awhile now - I think we all work SO hard to make our blogs a welcoming and fun and unique place to visit. But sometimes, I think we get so caught up in the stuff that goes into our blogs that we forget that these blogs are ours - to do whatever we want with them. To say what we want (or not). To post when we want (or not). Resetting is a great way to put it my dear, and I'm glad you did that last night! PS. I'm dying to try those new healthy bites, must put an order in! :)
Love it! You never cease to inspire me on a daily basis. Thank you for sharing this. I could not agree more with everything you said. Your food all looks delicious and makes me want to be gf. :)
I have a theory: we are all in this community especially for the sake of two things-- 1) our common interests in healthy living and food, and 2) for personality. If, for example, a vegan blogger that you read consistently, and considered a blogging friend, blogged one day about eating cheese, would you stop reading? Or, are you blogging friends and so you keep reading? I'm somewhat of the mind that #1 and #2 make it less important that we have a singular vision, goal or voice to express through our blogs, and just the act of doing it, whatever "it" may be, is important enough. That's what community is for, no? :)
I need to push the reset button SO often.. I usually am wondering why I am so busy and running around like a chicken w/ my head cut off and then I realize I need to reSET my priorities!
S, you are so right. Its community, is a feel of being engaged with others, etc.
And if I eat gluten one day, you'll still be my blogging friend, right?
;)

I really needed a reset button (and this post) on Tuesday! I kept building on my bad mood until it escalated WAY too far! Love this post and your eats - yum!
I know what you mean. Over the past two months I had to push reset I feel like almost everyday at work. Things were just not coming together. I finally feel like I am on the right track again. You are right, RESET is sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves. It helps us push for something new and better!
Sarah

i very much like the idea of a mental 'reset'. a conscious decision to move on. yet putting it just as one word makes it feel like, i dunno, more of a full stop? a new sentence, if you like.
good idea
I totally appreciate a reset. When I first started the blog I was just thinking of all the different ways I can be 'involved' and at some point it got to be too much. I totally understand your need to disconnect. Go enjoy yourself and mentally reset! :) But, not enough to where you forget that recipe for mint chocolate chip cookie balls - b/c I'm looking forward to it.
Blogs go their own ways, as does life ... You will never know. Just lean back and enjoy the show! :D
(I want the egg scramble. Badly. :D)
For once I don't feel like I need to push the reset button...probably because I am in complete vacation mode:) I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE RECIPE FOR THE MINT CHOCOLATE COOKIES!!! I LOVE your rose mug:)
thats awesome janae. You needed that vacation! Can i come visit you now? I need
some Cali sun and Trader Joes!!!

totally agree. I don't have enough to say either, at least nothing too
interesting. haha. I love your go with the flow attitude natalie.

Recipe for those bites PLEASE.
I feel like so many of your posts hit me RIGHT at the time I need them. On Tuesday and Wednesday I had really "off" days. I went to bed just wanting a reset, to start a fresh. At first I wanted to blame it on other people : My boss, my work, my mom, the list goes on. But it turns out I put the pressure on myself. Granted, I need to do certain things ( like show up to work and perform to the best of my ability) but the extra pressure past that is all my doing. And what is NEEDED to be done ? This is one I am still pondering. I have the hardest time separating what I want to do, what I NEED to do and who says it's a "need" ( did I internally decide so? is it a do or die situation like sleeping and eating? Is it the pressure again i impose on myself saying I need to do something). Such a good post. You have such a great way to put everything I'm thinking all together!!
there is SUCH a difference between 'staring over'' and 'setting again' and i absolutely love that you were able to distinguish the difference, writing about it based on your own personal experiences. i admire you so, so much (if you only knew!!) thanks for the insight, pretty girl
i tell ya what, I rather reset than start over anyday! Set back happen for a
reason, right? And I admire you for your honesty with life friend. Keep me
posted on how you are.
k?
