Promises are Promises

What day, what a week! Definitely a Whoa Nelly Week, but a good one, like many of you said you had.

But I want to take a minute here and make a promise. A promise to myself.

I promise to……..

Stop and enjoy the ride…..and journey

Keeping hoping……and dreaming

Savor each bite…..and flavor (of life)

Be real…..be true (each day)

God was whispering these to me all week. It was so obvious!
Yet, it took me a while to hear Him. All the “noise” of life was in the way. I had to stop, sit, and listen.

Whoa….I hear ya God. I want those promises!

And then I could hear Him tugging at my heart saying…..

“ Look, you can have them. You just have to start BELIEVING in them. Now GO LIVE them!”

Enjoy the Journey
I’m leaving, on a jet plane, to go watch the hubs race!

Oven Baked Jalapeno Lamb Cheese Burger

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. organic ground lamb (I usually find this in the frozen section of health stores- on sale!)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp flax meal
  • 2-3 tbsp GF bread crumbs ( millet bread works really well grounded up)
  • chili powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Garlic/sea salt/black pepper (a dash or two of each)
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup jalapeno slices (canned or fresh)
  • sweet chili ketchup or salsa
  • white cheddar cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400F. combine all your ingredients into one large mixing bowl (all beside the ketchup and cheese). Shape into patties. Place on cookie sheet with foil underneath. Bake middle rack for about 15-20 minutes. Then check the patties. I checked around 15 minutes. If almost done, place cheese on top and bake again for 2 minutes, then broil for another 2 minutes or so. Each oven is different, so be sure to keep an eye on the meat! Then toast and butter your GF bun, add the sweet chili salsa/ketchup on top of your patty, EAT and SAVOR!

What promises have you made to yourself lately?

Cheers and good luck to all those racing!!

Blogging will take a back seat this weekend, but I’ll be thinking about ya.

Have a great trip!!  I have made a promise to get my work work going.  I know it doesn't sound that exciting but I am behind and I am my own boss so I have to get my butt in gear and get it moving!

Awesome stuff Linds! Sometimes with everything going on it is SO hard to try and hear what God is trying to tell us, but making the effort to listen is so so worth it!! And I promise I'll keep you and the Hubs in my thoughts and prayers to have a safe journey and good results!! <3

So glad you get to join him. I hope you have a great (safe) trip and look forward to hearing about it when you get home.

Have a great time! And good luck to your husband! For me, it's not so much "promises" per se but just some thoughts that are really pressing into my heart - 1) that I need not wimp out with my running; that I just need to go for it. and 2) to seek what the Holy Spirit desires for my life and how I can be the wife God has called me to be. Things to pray about!

Have a wonderful time at the race : )

I always promise myself to take better care of my body and not let things slip any further, but every day seems to end the same way only to get up and reknew the promise again.  I really need to get better at not breaking promises to myself on such a consistent basis, as I never would with other people.

I've been reading triathlete magazine while working out lately and I'm constantly thinking of you guys!! I love the promises you make to yourself. They may seem basic, but they are fundamental principles for staying sane and being successful and hapy! Right now my promise is to take care of myself and not push it, even if my heart says "run" right now my body (and the doctor) say no. I promise that after overcoming my injury, I will train to get back to where I was and even further!
