Friday Happy Hour

Happy Friday to everyone! I know everyone is looking forward to that three day weekend. We're still working Monday but not the full day, phew! Anyway, its been a long day and a long week. The hubs and I like to catch up on Fridays by going to our favorite Pub and Wine bar FIONS. Its just down the road and its a great way to spend some quiet time together. The hubs usually get a red wine or Guinness Beer. Since its been so hot in Austin lately, he opted for a nice glass of Guinness (good stuff).  I always like to browse to see what the special Wine of the month  is. Tonight, I went with the Amici Rosato (rose).

I haven't had a Rose in forever. It was quite tasty! Not to sweet and definitely refreshing. Here's a little info about the Amici Rosato.

AMICI 2007 Rosato

Rosato is the Italian equivalent of rosé – pale red or “pink” colored wine that can be
produced from dark skinned grapes, such as zinfandel, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, sangiovese, grenache, merlot, tempranillo or a combination. Rosés get their pink hue from a limited contact time with the grape skins, usually only a few hours. We chose Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon to create our super dry inaugural rosé and the outcome is nothing less than fantastico!

This would be a great bottle to bring to a BBQ or to a dinner party with friends. So versatile! Anyway, thats my Friday night wine review. For those of you who don't drink wine, sorry to bore you. More recipes are soon to come! Mission Monday will be back soon with a twist on a veggie salad. Stay Tuned!

Happy Memorial day weekend! Be safe.

Cheers,
LC

p.s.
If you have a husband, boyfriend, etc. what do you all like to do to "catch up" on the week?

p.p.s
Do you like the wine review? Should I keep doing this? Once or twice a month maybe?

I know nothing about wines. I'm so ignorant when it comes to it; all I know about them is that they are divided into red wine, white wine, and uh...something in the middle.

Okay, so I guess this answers your question that I would love to know more and not sound so ignorant! ;-)

My husband and I LOVE wine. In fact, that is one of the ways we catch up on the weekends - relaxing with a nice bottle of wine.
I like to have a glass of wine every night so I like reviews of good "everyday" wines, plus nice wines to pair with meals for the weekends.

PS-I'm also a Kombucha lover!!
